BIG NEWS: Sun Darling is now BRAVE THE RIVER.

Happy New Years!

Wow has it been a crazy year! You might think I've died. But I have not... in fact, I have been the busiest I have ever been with music. Sun Darling is no longer called Sun Darling. I've changed the name of this music project to BRAVE THE RIVER. And this is a pretty big deal. I am currently finishing Brave the River's DOUBLE-ALBUM called Strange Currents. It's going to be a pop-symphony on two discs... and I'm pretty excited about it.

Let me tell you a little more about what I'm up to. About two years ago I found myself questioning everything about my life. Following a friend's attempted suicide, the world seemed to be a violent place that had no room for me or my generation. Not sure about God, love, or life's purpose, I set out on a journey across three continents. In between sleeping in bus stations, steeling bicycles, hiking in Africa's Atlas Mountains, climbing a volcano, getting lost in a city at night and nearly stabbed... well, it's been a grand adventure. In all of that, I found music. I wrote about 60 songs, and have been polishing up the songs that really tell this story about longing, love, and loss. Strange Currents is going to be a pretty epic record.

But this journey is just beginning. And I want you to be a part of it. I'm still building a new website... but until then follow me at www.bravetheriver.tumblr.com.  I'll be sharing free songs, unfinished tracks, videos from the studio, and stories from the journey. This story is just as much your story as it is mine, so come along for the journey and be a part of Strange Currents.

Let's help Japan together! I've sat quietly watching the news since a 9.0 magnitude earthquake and a tsunami hit northern Japan. The stories have broken my heart. And I know it is time we do something for our brothers and sisters. Out today is "To Japan, With Love!" (click here to get the charity EP)--a collection of 5 Sun Darling songs with all profits going directly to the Red Cross' efforts in Japan. These songs are just a way of saying thank you for your donation. So scrape together some pocket change--maybe we can do something big together with these 5 little songs.

Strange Currents is Online Now!

The moment you've all been waiting for... *Drum roll please* The next single "Strange Currents" is now available for download! The song is available for direct download in whatever format you want. So audiophiles and music nerds, delight! I am really excited about this epic electropop ditty that is built on some marching pop piano atop a big groove. It is one of those songs that is special because it kind of came about in one of those Hollywood sort of epiphanies. But go! Listen to it. I'll let it speak for itself!
